Available in different scales

As you shop for diecast model cars you will notice that, in many cases, the same make, model, color, of a particular car may be available in other scales. Scale can be represented with a colon or a slash; 1:18 is the same as 1/18. One thing to keep in mind is the larger the number after the “1”, the smaller the model will be.

To further explain how scale directly affects the size of the model, here a few more calculations of different scales for the 1965 Corvette Coupe we used in the example above.

1:24 scale:
175.3 inches ÷ 24 = 7.3 inches long
69.6 inches ÷ 24 = 2.9 inches wide

1:32 scale:
175.3 inches ÷ 32 = 5.5 inches long
69.6 inches ÷ 32 = 2.2 inches wide

See the chart below for further example.
